Garbage collection in the City of Salem will be delayed by one day due to the Labor Day holiday, advises Mayor Justin Green.

Labor Day will be observed on Monday, Sept. 5.

Monday’s route will be collected Tuesday; Tuesday’s route will run Wednesday and so forth throughout the remainder of the week.

“I appreciate residents’ efforts to help keep our city clean and attractive,” said Mayor Green. “I also thank them for their understanding when there is a change in the regular schedule.”

The City of Salem utilizes Blevins Sanitation for garbage collection.

Mayor Green advises the city will issue information prior to all holidays to remind residents about the collection schedule.
