Washington County Farmers’ Market

-Update for the week of Sept 7th

Washington County Farmers’ Market is going ugly, First Saturday in September is “ugly day” at the market. Everyone is always talking about our big beautiful produce and we just want to show that we have “ugly” produce also, so come see our “ugly produce “ contest. Contest is open to all vendors and public, so bring any ugly produce and join the computation! There will be a display table and market president Craig Akers and market manager Wayne Nicholson will do the judging, our two experts on “ugly”.

Only four more weeks to get your Big Tomato entered in the big tomato contest! With the record standing at 2.34 pounds, looks like the Good Earth Master Gardeners of Washington County & Washington County Farmers’ Market may get of easy this year with only a $ 46.80 tomato and that is kind of ugly!

Last weeks news release announced that,  “Finically the Tuesday evening market 4:30 to 7:00 have not been up to par with last year, therefore this Tuesday’s market maybe the last for this season”, was partly incorrect. Baker’s Garden by the Pond will still be setting-up at the Washington County Fair Grounds on Tuesday with limited hours.

Washington County Farmers’ Market will continue to be open Saturday mornings, 8:30 am to 12:30pm September and October, at the Washington County Fair Grounds, just a few blocks east of the Salem Square with lots of free parking. Come by and see what “ugly” really is!
