The 2nd Annual Morchella Festival is a celebration of the Morel mushroom. The Festival will be held on April 19th, 20th and 21st at Grateful Goat Vineyard and Winery in Palmyra Indiana.
Morchella is a genus of edible mushrooms. These distinctive mushrooms appear honeycomb-like in that their upper portion is composed of a network of ridges with pits between them. The Morchella genus of mushrooms or "Morels" as they are commonly known are among the most highly-prized of all edible mushrooms.
Festival activities include Ethnomycology Discussion by Magnificent Mushrooms, Wild edibles discussions, Cultivation of wild mushrooms on outdoor logs demonstration along with live music, food and wine, camping and bonfires.
