City creates Emergency Flood Fund for Donations

Mayor Pledges to Quickly Release Funds to Residents in Critical Need

The City of Salem, Indiana has established an Emergency Flood 2017 fund for receiving donations from around the country and quickly distributing those funds to the critically effected residents of the City.

The devastating floods have caused serious damage to many homes and businesses in the City of Salem. The City is working with other agencies and law enforcement to identify those people hit hardest.

Mayor Troy Merry pledges that the funds will be released to those most in need. The funds will be released as quickly as possible to help people when they are most effective. Further, Mayor Merry wants to make clear to those donating money that, "100% of the designated donations will go directly to the Salem residents effected by the 2017 flood."
