Spring Drug Drop Collects 44lbs of Outdated Medications

on .

The Washington County Substance Abuse Council recently held its spring Drug Drop thanks to the help of the City of Salem Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department and Drug Team.

The drop, held April 27, collected 30 pounds of non-controlled medicine and 14 pounds of controlled substances.

Scott Ratts and Reggie Terrell collected the drugs and took them to the Animal Shelter to be burned.

The Substance Abuse Council thanks everyone who brought their outdated, unused medications to the drug drop, as well as the two police departments, the prosecutor’s office, Prevent Child Abuse and the City of Salem for their support in this successful event.

It takes the whole community working together to make Washington County a better, safer place to live.

Anyone who has medication they would like to dispose of may do so any time during the year at the City of Salem Police Department.

Another drug drop will be held in October.

Thanks for your support,

Monika Spaulding,
Washington County Substance Abuse Council Coordinator
