Do you have any outdated, unused prescription drugs in your home but don’t know how to get rid of them?
On Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10-noon, the Washington County Substance Abuse Council is sponsoring a drug drop at Salem’s City Hall.
People may drive up and drop their prescriptions off, no questions asked. The collected medications will be disposed of by the City of Salem Police Department.
“These drug drops have been very successful for us,” said WCSAC Coordinator Monika Spaulding. “We try to hold two of these a year: one in April and one in October.”
Other groups that help sponsor these drops are Washington County Prosecutor’s Office, Prevent Child Abuse, Washington County Sheriff’s Department, City of Salem Police and Fire Departments and the Drug Team.
