Thanks To Those Who Made the Trip On the Polar Express Memorable

on .

I would like to send my thoughts of appreciation to all those who made the trip on the Polar Express a wonderful adventure on December 7th at the Depot Museum. As every person entered the Depot, they were given a ticket, “For those who still believe!” An abundant supply of hot chocolate, popcorn, and cookies were enjoyed by all.  The craft with Donna Hurst from the Salem Public Library prior to departure was perfect, serving assistance from Tri Kappa was needed and appreciated, Santa on the caboose added to the festivities, and I can’t say enough about our Conductor Cecil Smith. After Cecil punched each child’s ticket the movie began, as they watched wearing their pajamas.

Souvenir booklets with bells were given to each child, and to all those children, don’t forget to send your letter to Santa.

Next year, with the Depot Museum adding square footage, we will be able to accept more reservations to attend the event.

Once again, thanks to Cecil Smith, Salem Public Library, The Depot Museum Staff, Salem Leader, Tri-Kappa, Lowell DePoy, and all the children who were so well behaved.  We did not have a single cup of hot chocolate spilled.
