Emergency Planning Guide for Child Care Providers

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security has issued an Emergency Planning guide to help prepare child care providers for disasters.

Child care providers are currently required only to have a plan in case of fire or severe weather situations. The new Child Care Preparedness Guide covers other emergencies including flash flooding, hazardous spills, earthquakes and threats of violence.

The guide was developed in partnership with the Indiana School of Medicine, Riley Hospital for Children, the state departments of health and education, the Indiana Association for Child Care Resource and Referral and the Indiana Family Social Services Administration.
