Thanks go to the many volunteers, businesses, and organizations helping the Salem Parks and Recreation Department throughout the year. The Salem Parks & Recreation includes the following parks and recreation facilities open to the public.
Myer's Community Swimming Pool:
The Myer's Community Pool Includes:
- Baby pool with turtle slide
- Pool with adult double slide
- Lawn chair rentals
- Concession stand
- Shaded picnic area
- Showers and locker rooms
Myer's Community Swimming Pool Hours:
- Open to the Public - June 7 - August 1
- Hours: 12:30pm to 5:30pm Monday - Saturday (12:30pm to 4:00pm during Fair Week)
- Sundays and evenings for parties only.
Additional Myer's Pool Information:
- Daily Admission: $2.00 Students/Adults, $1.00 Preschool
- Season Pool Pass: $55.00 Individual, $125 Family, all within the same household
- Pool Parties: $60.00 one hour, $90.00 two hours,$135.00 three hours, $170.00 four hours (NO POOL PARTIES DURING FAIR WEEK) Enjoy a 2-flume slide in the big pool and fun in the baby pool with a turtle slide, also diving area.
- Concessions available during regular hours.
- Free sunscreen provided.
- ADA compliant - stairs and lift available if needed.
- Covered deck area, picnic area and tables.
DePauw Park and Riley’s Place Playground
A public shelter is available for rental within DePauw Park. To reserve the DePauw Park Shelter contact the Salem Parks and Recreation Office at Ph#812-883-2895. The shelter is perfect for family reunions and gatherings.
DePauw Park Includes:
- Riley’s Place Playground
- Outside grill & Picnic tables and Covered Shelter
- Four basketball goals
Salem Community Park:
Community Park is alive with activity with T-Ball games, Youth baseball and adult softball leagues almost every evening and weekend. If you would like to reserve a field please contact the Parks Dept.
Community Park Includes:
- Five Ball fields (Youth Leagues are Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken sanctioned) Fields may be rented by calling Ph#812-883-2895
- Concessions stand
- Tennis Courts
- Covered picnic area
- Two sets of restrooms
- Skate park
- Merri-go-round and slide
Elizabeth Street Park and Shelter:
The Elizabeth Street Park features the following:
- Playground Equipment
- Covered Shelter & Picnic area
- Volleyball and a Basketball court
