Thanks go to the many volunteers, businesses, and organizations helping the Salem Parks and Recreation Department throughout the year. The Salem Parks & Recreation includes the following parks and recreation facilities open to the public.
DePauw Park and Riley’s Place Playground
A public shelter is available for rental within DePauw Park. To reserve the DePauw Park Shelter contact the Salem Parks and Recreation Office at Ph#812-883-2895. The shelter is perfect for family reunions and gatherings.
DePauw Park Includes:
- Riley’s Place Playground
- Outside grill & Picnic tables and Covered Shelter
- Four basketball goals
Salem Community Park:
Community Park is alive with activity with T-Ball games, Youth baseball and adult softball leagues almost every evening and weekend. If you would like to reserve a field please contact the Parks Dept.
Community Park Includes:
- Five Ball fields (Youth Leagues are Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken sanctioned) Fields may be rented by calling Ph#812-883-2895
- Concessions stand
- Tennis Courts
- Covered picnic area
- Two sets of restrooms
- Skate park
- Merri-go-round and slide
Elizabeth Street Park and Shelter:
The Elizabeth Street Park features the following:
- Playground Equipment
- Covered Shelter & Picnic area
- Volleyball and a Basketball court
