A Community Working Together Celebration

The Salem Parks and Recreation Department is inviting the public to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony along with the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, Friday September 28th from 12:00noon until 1:00pm, at the new Elizabeth Street Park Shelter in Salem.

“This is truly our community coming together and making a plan reality”, said P&R Director Denise Newkirk. “So many volunteers and contributors made Elizabeth Street Park better due to their enthusiasm for the project and time donated. The renovations would not have been possible if not only for the volunteers, but for businesses such as Blue River Wood Products, IMI/Irving Materials, Temple and Temple Paving, Salem Lumber, Level Best Contracting/Joe Lundergun, and the support of Mayor David Bower and the City of Salem Departments”.

The City is also planning a cookout along with the ribbon cutting ceremony.
