St.Vincent Salem Hospital Offers Shoulder Replacement Seminar

St.Vincent Salem Hospital and St.Vincent Medical Group Orthopedic Surgeon, Waqar Aziz, MD, will host a seminar on Shoulder Replacement on Thursday, December 13 at Noon in the hospital’s board room.

“Total shoulder replacement is an option for patients who suffer from joint dysfunctions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or for those who have suffered severe trauma causing a shoulder fracture or massive rotator cuff tear,” said Dr. Aziz. “If physical therapy and medication are no longer relieving pain, then it is time to investigate shoulder replacement.”

Dr. Aziz will discuss what to expect before, during and after surgery and will also discuss the physical therapy process that will take place following a surgery of this nature. He will also discuss a new option called a “Reverse Shoulder Replacement”.

Dr. Aziz has provided orthopedic services in Washington County for over 15 years and trained with the world-renowned Kleinert and Kutz Hand Surgical team in Louisville, Kentucky. For more information or to register for this seminar, call 812-883-5881, ext. 1366.
