Regarding Issuance of General Obligation Bonds by the City of Salem
The residents and taxpayers of the City of Salem, Indiana (the “City”) are hereby given notice that the Common Council of the City (“Council”) will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. on Monday September 8, 2025, in the City of Salem Government Building at 201 E. Market Street, Salem, Indiana 47167. The purpose of the public hearing is for the Council to consider the issuance of general obligation bonds by the City, in one or more series, in an original aggregate principal amount not to exceed $1,500,000 (the “Bonds”), together with any interest earnings thereon, for the purpose of providing for the payment or reimbursement of (i) all or a portion of the costs of planning and constructing various capital projects of the City (collectively, the “Project”); (ii) preliminary expenses related thereto and all incidental expenses incurred in connection therewith (all of which are deemed to be a part of the Project), and (iii) the costs of selling and issuing the Bonds. At said public hearing, all persons shall have the right to appear and be heard regarding the proposed issuance of the Bonds.
