The residents and taxpayers of the City of Salem, Indiana (the “City”), are hereby notified that the Common Council of the City will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. on Monday September 8, 2025, in the City of Salem Government Building at 201 E. Market Street, Salem, Indiana 47167, on the matter of appropriating the proceeds of general obligation bonds to be issued by the City, in one or more series, in an original aggregate principal amount not to exceed $1,500,000 (the “Bonds”), together with any interest earnings thereon, for the purpose of providing for the payment or reimbursement of (i) all or a portion of the costs of planning and constructing various capital projects of the City (collectively, the “Project”); (ii) preliminary expenses related thereto and all incidental expenses incurred in connection therewith (all of which are deemed to be a part of the Project), and (iii) the costs of selling and issuing the Bonds. Said appropriation is in addition to any appropriations provided for in the existing budget and tax levy. At said public hearing, all persons shall have the right to appear and be heard on the necessity of said appropriation.
